We were pretty chuffed when this house fitout in Cox’s Bay, our first, won Home of the Year 2007.
Curved island unit from solid American white oak melts into the flooring (or perhaps rises up from the floor) with a seamless join.
Had to work in collaboration with the flooring installer to create a unit that was truly built in to the home’s structure, then the flooring and island were coated at the same time to ensure uniformity.
The back wall has solid cedar random sized battens affixed to all the cabinetry doors for depth and texture.
The sunken lounge was manufactured from American white oak finished with a chocolate stain. Custom built seating and cushions in a green leather.
The back wall acted as a partition to the home cinema on the other side with glass partitions between to let in some natural light.
