Form Design custom made all of the cabinetry and project managed the creation of the wooden benchtop, made from Jarrah and coated in liquid glass resin
Island bench and back wall cabinets were custom made out of moisture resistant MDF
Solid pine toe kicks were machined to carry the same profile as the cabinets
A scullery, seen in the background, was custom made in less premium materials but styled and finished to look the same as the main kitchen

This labour intensive, ‘Colonial’ kitchen required meticulous attention to detail. Form Design premade the entire kitchen in their factory to 100% scale to ensure well-balanced proportions of the detailing and ratios of size of the units.

The creation of this kitchen’s benchtop required specialists. Project managed by Form Design, they worked closely together to ensure correct measurements for precise placement of the sink.

The cabinets and island bench were manufactured out of moisture-resistant MDF with solid timber beading. The solid pine toe kicks had to be manufactured to have the same profile as the rest of the detailing throughout the finishes.

A scullery was also built out of melamine with PVC edging. While these materials are slightly less premium than that of the main kitchen, due to the space and size of the area it took up, there was still a great deal of attention to detail required.

For installation, the full-scale kitchen was loaded onto trucks and transported to Kumeu.
